America Baez, an experienced Chicago-based Latina talent attraction and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) leader, grew up in a family of teachers, politicians, artists, and poets who inspired her to follow her biggest dreams. Those dreams grew inside her until, as a young woman, she was on the brink of leaving her home in Mexico to move to the United States. She understood that creating connections would greatly help plan for the future she wanted and went to Chicago to be with family and friends. Before her move, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She didn’t let her diagnosis stop her from accomplishing her dream and eventually earning an MBA degree.
